Babita Kumari Phogat (born November 20, 1989) is an Indian female wrestler who won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She has earned silver medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the 2010 Commonwealth Games, as well as a bronze medal at the 2012 World Wrestling Championships. Babita Phogat entered politics in 2019 when she joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Dangal, a film loosely based on her and her sister's life, was released on December 23, 2016. Sanya Malhotra played Babita, and Suhani Bhatnagar played her younger self.
